Most "investment" platforms teach you to guess share prices. The Institute teaches you the thing that actually makes an economist employable: reading evidence, building an argument, and writing it down so someone can disagree with it.
Short modules on how the South African economy actually works — prices, inflation, the Reserve Bank, the rand, jobs, and the national budget. Each takes about 15–25 minutes and ends with a quiz that explains every answer, right or wrong.
Every module ends with an applied task: your own words on the real economy, written beside a worked example so you can see what a strong answer looks like. This is the part employers actually read.
Finish all eight modules and you earn the EEA Foundations Certificate and write your Foundations Brief — a one-page analysis of the South African economy under your name, kept in your analyst portfolio.

Awarded on completion of all eight modules. It certifies one specific thing: that you can read, interpret and write about the core indicators of the South African economy. Levels two and three — Analyst and Advanced — are being written.
Module 1 assumes nothing. If you have never studied economics, this is built for you. If you are an economics student, it is the grounding your degree assumes you already have.
No fees, no subscription. The Institute is run by the Economics Excellence Association as a student organisation, not a business.
Your submitted analyses build into an analyst portfolio you can send to a recruiter or attach to a bursary application. Certificates say what you can do; the writing proves it.
